Friday August 29, 2003:
  • Nothing planned as of yet, though we try to gather with folks who are already in town for a lovely dinner experience. Undoubtedly during the day we will be running many errands and attending to last minute details.
  • If you would like to volunteer to assist with errand running or winery set-up on this day, please click here!

Saturday August 30, 2003:
  • A nice rocking party will be had, to which all will be invited, children, friends, relations, at the home of our gracious and highly esteemed friends the Kobaks; this exalted event will occur in the late afternoon or early evening and go until the weeeeeeee hours.
  • Daytime is currently free as a bird and clean as a whistle, but some set-up at the winery, etc. or more fun activities may occur.
  • If you would like to volunteer to assist with errand running or winery set-up on this day, please click here!

Sunday August 31, 2003:
  • The big day!

Lodging:

  • For lodging we recommend staying in town as most events will be in Portland rather than the hinterlands. Fun places to stay (two in town, one out closer to the winery) are the McMenamin’s places. They renovate old buildings into hotels / microbreweries; in town try The White Eagle (very close to our house and the Kobaks) or Kennedy School (close to the Kobaks); out of town try The Grand Lodge (close to the winery):
  • Of course you can find Doubletree and Holiday Inn hotels around town - but search in the neighborhoods of Jantzen Beach, Delta Park, and the Rose Quarter for the closest ones; otherwise North or Northeast Portland.

Misc:

  • The wedding and the reception will both be outside, rain or shine, so please dress appropriately for the weather. The winery is a very rustic setting and parts of the grounds are uneven and may be unfriendly to spiky heels. Please dress appropriately!
  • If you are bringing children, we will have a sitter to entertain and keep an eye on them. Outdoor games and toys would be welcome!
  • Information on pre-wedding festivities, accommodations, and things to do around Portland can be found at wayson.net/wedding or email us with questions.
  • There is a wedding registry at Amazon.com. And another at Meier & Frank . But, really, your presence will be enough.
